It is hard to imagine life without the foam found in everyday products like shampoos and washing detergents. However, in the industrial world, foam is a major source of trouble. These foam-related troubles are not limited to easily recognizable issues such as;

Antifoams are chemically designed to prevent the formulation of foam, de-foamers break the existing foam. Our antifoams are readily dispersible, provide excellent long-term foam control persistency, are highly effective on entrained, surface macro-foam, and micro-foam.

There are three types of defoaming actions: foam-breaking, foam-suppressing, and deaerating. In the first type (foam-breaking), foam is rapidly destroyed by adding an agent to a foamed liquid. In the second type (foam-suppressing), the agent is added to the liquid beforehand, thus restricting it from foaming. And in the third type (deaerating), foam from the liquid is merged into one big mass, accelerating its rising to the surface.

Our special transparent anti-foam agents can be used in various daily chemical products such as essence, aerosol, laundry detergents, and cleaning agents. With its special technology, our antifoam agents do not change the appearance of formula while having a good knockdown and durability.

We know that the criteria for successful foam control are, therefore;

  • A lower surface tension than the foaming medium
  • Insolubility in the foaming media
  • Dispersibility in the foaming media

Where antifoams are required, they should be dosed before the point at which foam is created and in a way that they are dispersed as uniformly as possible through-out the liquid.

Sagtex Series

Sagtex series are active at very low use levels and show excellent performance in all types of surfactants (nonionic, cationic and anionic) as well as high and low temperatures and various pH conditions.

Maxant Series

De-foaming, which is the speed and extent of knock-down of the existing foam, is the immediate and often dramatic visual wow-effect. Therefore it influences the product selection although it is rarely the key factor.

Overall in-use cost is generally determined by antifoam durability, i.e. how frequently the antifoam needs to be re-dosed. This may require longer-term plant trials to determine.

In such kind of cases, Maxant Series is the best solution because new technological breakthroughs provide answers to the toughest situations.
